As pro sports continue to be on hold, leagues have found creative ways to connect its athletes with fans, turning to remote production technology to do so.

Singular Certified Service Provider DoubleTake Sports used Singular and vMix to produce the Intrust Super Cup E-Sports Challenge for the Australian rugby league. The event featured pro rugby players competing against each other in a video game tournament, and was streamed on Facebook Live.

The project was produced in vMix with a PlayStation console onsite, the feed going into the production machine and a split out for the commentator, who was also in studio. The game was played using PlayStation’s ‘Share Play’ functionality, where one of the players hosted the game, the other played against them, and the feed was ‘viewed’ in a PlayStation ‘party.’
